Transforming an unworn diamond necklace
A selection of 18ct white gold pieces, using diamonds from an antique necklace
It is extremely rewarding to see the client's great pleasure when the lengthy process of designing and making a bespoke piece of jewellery comes to fruition.
I have been working on a project that involved designing several pieces of jewellery from a diamond necklace that was no longer worn. It has been a thrill to create an engagement ring, a necklace and these two stunning pairs of drop earrings from this single original piece.
As is often the case, the process began with a series of sketches. This stage of the bespoke journey first of all allows me to explore the many options possible, as well as helping the client to visualise the finished article.
The original necklace produced so many diamonds, we were able to make four incredible pieces. In addition to the two pairs of drop earrings above, we also made a substantial wide ring, as well as a co-ordinating necklace, in my signature cluster 'flower' style.
It is so rewarding to create pieces that will be treasured and worn, from a previously unworn piece. I am sure that these will all become future heirlooms.
Below you can see what is left of the original necklace, there are still more diamonds remaining!
