Assistant to Julia Lloyd George (Part Time)
Part-time assistant to Julia (one day a week) supporting the team in the day-to-day running of this successful small jewellery business.
Julia creates her jewellery collections and offers clients bespoke design services from her purpose-built showroom and studio in Earls Court, London. Julia’s work has been described as utterly contemporary yet with an ancient feel. Her career spans 40 years, and she has a dedicated following many of whom have become avid collectors of her work.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy small business, working in the exciting world of fine jewellery, and to learn from a true expert in her field.
The role:
Client relations- Correspondence & monthly newsletters
- Invitations to events
- Sending and managing invoices, orders, estimates and valuations
Correspondence with suppliers
- Ordering packaging
- Requesting quotes
- Occasional visits to Hatton Garden – polishers, setters, Assay Office etc.
- Liaising with photographer, accompanying pieces to photography studio
- Writing Instagram captions
- Posting stories, advising on content etc
- Generally assisting with engagement, comments etc
- Updating inventory on website
- Keeping image files up to date
- Updating and maintaining price lists with new pieces
- Annual stock take of pieces and stone inventory
- Generally keeping up to date – including:-Adding new products, writing descriptions, organising collections
- Writing copy for banners, blog posts etc
- SEO management – through Shopify portal
- Liaising with Website developers
- Greeting clients
- Ordering supplies, stationery, ink cartridges
- Ordering business cards, invoice books etc
- Overseeing suppliers
- Liaising with IT support
- Managing digital files – e.g. photographs and invoices
- Basic day-to-day accounting – e.g. writing invoices / taking payments
- Post Office trips
- Occasionally at weekends and evenings
- Filling in applications to apply & associated paperwork
- Occasional requirement for brand collateral - e.g. print / digital advertisements, annual brochure.
